Writing from home for cash

Mention working from home and a certain percentage of people think “writing.” Good thought because this is one of the obvious ways to leave the traditional work force and make money in your pajamas at home. The continued growth of the internet insures one thing – there will be a high demand for writers to create all that website content. So how do you become a home-based writer? Here are some ideas.

1. Write an informational ebook. These days it’s cheap and easy to publish through outlets like ClickBank or PayLoadz. Almost everyone knows something that someone else would pay to learn.

2. Online and offline magazines continue to need freelance writers to fill space in their publications. Pay varies wildly for cyber mags. Hard copy magazines pay .15 to .35 cents per word on the low end and upwards of $1 on the high end.

3. Fillers. These same publications need filler material. Think tips, hints, jokes, facts, etc. Some markets pay $10 to $25 for this kind of piece. Doesn’t seem like much but they’re quick to produce.

4. Articles. Article writing is a valuable skill for modern writers. You can use article banks like EzineArticles to promote your own product or work for third party article distributors like Demand Studios at a rate of $15-20 an hour (depending upon your work rate).

5. Blogging is stratospheric in terms of popularity right now. People are making big money off them and many who are not interested in creating the content themselves will gladly pay a writer to create regular entries.

There you have it – five ways to generate money from writing at home.
