The peasants are coming with pitchforks.

There are politicians, commentators, and writers. Then there’s the solidly anti-establishment and pro-America Patrick J. Buchanon. As senior advisor to Presidents’ Nixon, Ford and Reagan, Buchanon earned a political pedigree which he put to use as CNN’s original Crossfire host.

Buchanon ran for President in his own right in 1992 and 1996, then again in 2000 on the Reform Party ticket. As Jason mentioned during his talk with Mr. Buchanan, a major obstacle to his election to the highest office in the land was a tendency to speak the truth and say what he thinks. These days, that’s the kiss of death for a politician.

Currently, Buchanan is a columnist, political analyst for MSNBC, editor of The American Conservative, and chairman of The American Cause Foundation. He has also written 10 books, the last six of which have been New York Times bestsellers. Buchanan can also be seen regularly on The Mclaughlin Group.

Anyone out there remember Buchanon’s campaign slogan in the 1996 presidential primaries? It was “The peasants are coming with pitchforks.” Though he won in New Hampshire, Alaska, Missouri, and Louisiana, Bob Dole’s inside-the-beltway establishment machine finally rolled over Pat and secured the nomination.

Jason’s conversation with Pat Buchanan on Creating Wealth show #92 is a can’t miss for all fans of the podcast. Tune in to this interview with a true American legend at www.JasonHartman.com.
