One of the worst mistakes a newbie internet marketer can make is to jump directly into Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Google ads. Yes, it’s true, that some people make huge money with that strategy but we would bet our last dollar they have been studying marketing for a while.
You might get lucky. More likely, you’ll burn through your budget quickly and have little to show for it, then throw up your hands and move on to something else.
There’s a better way and it’s called article marketing. The purpose of article marketing is to get your sales message in front of lots of people without paying for the privilege. In a nutshell, you write a series of articles, each optimized for a keyword related to your product.
Next, you submit them to article directory sites like EzineArticles, GoArticles, and ArticlesBase. If everything goes according to plan, your article should benefit from the intrinsic search engine power of the article site and your message, in a best case scenario, will be on the front page of Google search results for that particular term within a few days to a week.
Sound as easy as taking candy from a baby? Not quite, but this is a serious internet marketing strategy if you can’t afford to spend lots of money right away.
