Pick Your Niche for Online Marketing Success

Far too many people spend too much time trying to figure out what the topic of their online marketing business should be. It doesn’t have to be that hard. Here’s one way to approach the dilemma. What do you love doing? What topic flips the talk switch on your mouth and you can’t shut up about it? It can be almost anything. With the far flung tendrils of the internet snaking into almost every corner of the globe, it would be hard to find a niche that doesn’t have an appreciable audience.

Let’s look at a case study for a website we recently ran across. Don’t know the people behind it or anything about the business other than what’s freely available to anyone inclined to dig a little. The site is BeachRentals. Their online marketing thrust allows beach rental owners to upload videos for potential renters to find. Owner Teri Morin is a beach rental house owner so her interest in the topic is understandable. Not only does Beach Rentals let you peruse video but also posts travel related news.

How does the website make money? For the cost of $19.99 per month or $199 per year, you receive a membership that allows you to upload videos promoting your rental to a ready made audience. With the explosive popularity of internet video, there is probably no better way to get your product in front of eyeballs today. Beach Rentals also has chosen to monetize their website by offering advertising space.

So what topic interests you? Don’t automatically dismiss it as too esoteric or narrow of an interest. There are a lot of people in this world to go after. At Creating Wealth, we think it’s better to have tried and missed than never have tried at all. Maybe your first topic won’t have a lot of interest – maybe it will – however, the best way to guarantee your online marketing business fails is to never try.
