Jason Hartman vs. Traditional Real Estate

It’s a new year. Out with the old and in with the new, especially when it comes to real estate!

We’re the first to admit that we sometimes come down a bit harshly on the traditional real estate industry, but we don’t do it just for kicks and grins. Underneath everything is the heartfelt belief that “business as usual” when it comes to buying and selling land is simply unacceptable. It’s bad for the agent, seller, and buyer. Anywhere else, when a business model is broken that badly, you change it or abandon it. Yet the old fashioned real estate industry keeps plodding along.

Today we’d like to list five reasons Jason Hartman’s Complete Solution for Real Estate Investors breathes fresh air into a tired old model. In the interest of fairness, however, we would like to point out a single advantage that the old way of doing business has over our innovative approach – massive name recognition. RE/MAX, Coldwell Bankers, Century 21. The list goes on. The names roll off the tongue of almost anyone who’s been paying attention to land sales over the past century. As we all know, though, big doesn’t always equate with better, and a hammer is not always the best tool for the job.

In no particular order, here’s why we believe our approach to real estate investing tops the traditional real estate approach.

1. Area Agnostic – If you aren’t familiar with the term, Area Agnostic is a phrase coined by Jason Hartman that simply means we guide our investors to the best deals, no matter where they are, geographically speaking. This stands in stark contrast to your local real estate agent, who is beholden to his local market. He may be an expert on the town he lives in and a ten or twenty mile radius but that’s it. Jason Hartman’s team specializes in uncovering the best deals no matter where they are. This keeps you out of bad deals and into profit.

2. Investment Knowledge – Traditional real estate agents are trained to do one thing: sell houses to home buyers, with the emphasis on “home.” If you go to them looking for specific investment advice, you’ll probably find yourself in a heap of trouble. That’s simply not what they do. The Hartman approach, on the other hand, finds and recommends properties with investments fixed firmly in mind. That’s what we do. That’s what we’ve always done. We understand investment property evaluation and strategy better than any generalist property agent ever could.

3. Where’s the System? When it comes to finding profitable property deals, you want to take as much guesswork out of the process as possible. That’s why we have focused for years on developing a repeatable, step-by-step, systematic method of evaluating properties. It’s not rocket science. Plug in the numbers and you can tell at a glance whether it’s a good deal or not. More frequently than not, your real estate agent uses a “throw everything at the wall and see what sticks approach.” You’ve got too much at stake to risk doing that.

4. Teach a Man to Fish – Many real estate agents have a vested interest in hoping you don’t figure out how easy it is to spot premium investment deals. Like a high stakes poker game, they want to keep their hand hidden in order to bank the most commission. Hey, everybody’s got to make a living but Jason Hartman’s business focuses on educating the investor along the way. We fully expect that some day they won’t need us, and that’s okay. Of course, we’ve got to earn a living too but money’s not the only thing in this world.

5. Expensive Store Fronts – Almost any town of any size in the United States has splashy store fronts offering services of the predictable big name real estate companies. The funny thing is that they’re so tied to a specific location it doesn’t matter to them if the local market is actually good for buying. We, on the other hand, have created a far flung network of local agents who search out great deals for us to recommend to our investors. We don’t need office space in every nook and cranny population center because we form partnerships with local experts already in place.

These are just a few of the reason we believe the real estate investment method espoused by Jason Hartman offers a clear advantage to property investors. But talk is cheap.
