CW 359: Property Appraisals with Ken Wilson of The Appraisal Institute & Meet the Masters of Income Property Investing Seminar Debriefing

While the topic of property appraisal rarely (maybe never) leads the evening news headlines, anyone interested in income property investing will want to tune in as Jason Hartman, host of The Creating Wealth Show, interviews the Appraisal Institute’s, Jim Wilson, on episode #359. The Appraisal Institute is no small time operation. It boasts 22,000 members on six continents and is the industry’s leading membership organization, providing a level of competence in property appraisal that far exceeds the government minimum standards.

Mr. Wilson is no Johnny-come-lately to the property appraisal party. He’s been appraising real estate professionally for 35 years, worked for two nationally known appraisal firms, started his own company, and currently serves as president for the Appraisal Institute. If it’s worth doing in the property appraisal profession, there’s a good chance Wilson has done it and done it well. A graduate of DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree and concentration in real estate and finance, Wilson has lived with his family in the Dallas area for 30 years.

Before delving into his interview with Ken Wilson, Jason invites Sara to the show for a recap of the recent Meet the Masters of Income Property Investing (MTMOIPI) Weekend. As the flagship event of Empowered Investor Network, MTMOIPI is a once a year gathering of income property investing experts. Think of it as an information-packed two day course that teaches you everything you need to get started investing in real estate the right way, which is to say, the PROFITABLE way.
