Are you a serial seminarist?

What is a serial seminarist? Maybe you are. A serial seminarist is a person who is in love with educating themselves about property investment. They’ve been going to seminars for years. They’ve read all the books. They can talk the talk like old pros but have yet to pull the trigger on their first property purchase.

Education is a good thing. We love education. It’s critical to your investing success but, remember, the circle is not complete, the pendulum is not put into motion until you begin doing what you’ve been learning about. It is only by crossing that chasm and putting your money on the line that the real education begins.

We spend all this time talking about investing because we want to make money and, just as importantly, we want you to make money but you can’t do that until you actually invest. Your mind will never be completely free of doubt. Some people believe that if only they study a little bit more, all doubt will be removed and they can enter into that first property purchase with a completely calm brain.

Sorry. Doesn’t work like that. The only way to eliminate the doubt is to take action. A prolific copywriter by the name of Michael Masterson wrote a book called Ready, Fire, Aim, which discussed this topic in more detail. In it, he acknowledged that most people will never be completely ready to embark upon a new journey. You should get as ready as possible in a short amount of time, then launch the project. Afterwards, you can make adjustments, if necessary, while underway.

Waiting is the Achilles Heel of the human race. We wait too long and never do anything. By doing something, anything at all, even if it’s partly wrong, you’re way ahead of the pack.
